How to use a strength meter

Pairing a strong currency against a weak one gives you a clearer trend to trade. If GBP is green across its row and JPY is red down its column, GBP/JPY is likely moving strongly upward.

  • Use it to choose which pair to trade, then confirm on a chart.
  • Avoid pairs where both currencies are similar in strength. They tend to range.
  • Strength changes during the day, so check again around the London and New York opens.
